Located atop Simi Valley’s vast peaks and valleys, The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is a sprawling center overlooking all of Ventura County. One of the county’s most popular tourist destinations, the center includes a library, educational events, and a museum with permanent and temporary exhibits. Thousands of artifacts and displays detail decades of President Reagan’s life, including his Hollywood career, California governorship, and a daily diary that he kept throughout his presidency. The museum also includes a full-size replica of the Oval Office, and the center displays a unique piece of presidential history in the massive “Air Force One Pavilion.” The 90,000-square-foot hanger is complete with a floor to ceiling glass wall that boasts an expansive hilltop view. Inside, visitors can tour the 707 aircraft that served Reagan and other presidents, including Carter, Clinton and H.W. Bush. This “Flying White House” offers an intimate and detailed glimpse of how these presidents traveled.
